Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information on Fly-Tipping I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding fly-tipping within your authority area. To assist with accurate and efficient processing, I have listed each question clearly and separately. Please provide the most recent 5 years of available data, broken down by year. ________________________________ Requested Information A. Volume and Cost of Fly-Tipping 1. How many incidents of fly-tipping were recorded each year? 2. What is the total annual cost to the council associated with fly-tipping? 3. How much does it cost the council to clear or clean up fly-tipping each year? B. Enforcement and Legal Action 1. How many investigations into fly-tipping were conducted each year? 2. How many enforcement actions were taken each year (e.g., Fixed Penalty Notices issued) & what was the total costs recovered? 3. How many prosecutions were brought each year? 4. How many of those prosecutions were successful each year? 5. How much money was recovered via prosecutions? C. Income and Cost Recovery 1. How much money was received each year from: * A. Fines and penalties * B. Cost recovery for clean-up or enforcement D. Deterrence Measures 1. What types of fly-tipping deterrence methods does the council currently use? 2. How much money is spent each year on deterring fly-tipping (e.g., CCTV, signage, patrols, campaigns)? 3. Does the council use surveillance systems (fixed or mobile) specifically for fly-tipping prevention or prosecution? If so, please specify the type. 4. How many times has surveillance footage been used as evidence in enforcement or prosecution in the last 5 years? E. Intelligence and Monitoring 1. Do you currently monitor fly-tipping hotspots? If so, how many identified hotspots are there? 2. Does the council contract external companies for monitoring, surveillance, or enforcement relating to fly-tipping? If so, please specify suppliers and contract values. 3. Is the council currently considering procuring additional surveillance or enforcement technology for fly-tipping?
