Freedom of Information request - Afghan Resettlement

Case reference FOI2023/00096

Published 3 January 2024

Request

I wish to understand 1. How many Afghans (each person being a man woman or child) were moved into the Oxford City Council area as a direct result of coming to the UK under the Afghans Resettlement Scheme since it was introduced 18 months ago? 2. How many of these are currently still being housed in temporary Hotel bridging accommodation within the Oxford City Council boundary? 3. Of those that have been rehoused to more permanent accommodation by OCC, how many were accommodated in (a) council owned properties (b) other social housing provider properties (c) private landlords properties? 4. Can I see the minutes of ALL council meetings which refer to Afghan resettlement and if and how the council in particular are looking at the private sector to meet the demand for housing in this area? 5. Who in the person within the Council is overall responsible for this issue?
