Request

I'd like to request a list including the vehicle registration number, make and model of the vehicle of all vehicles that were issued a license as a Taxi, Hackney Carriage or for Private Hire (both approved and active licenses) between the dates of: 01/12/2025 to 31/03/2026.

Response

The Council holds information within scope of your request and can confirm that vehicle make, model and license start and expiry dates for vehicles licensed between 01 December2025 and 31 March 2026 are held and can be disclosed based on extracted licensing records; however, vehicle registration numbers are withheld under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as they constitute third party personal data, and this is an absolute exemption where disclosure would contravene the data protection principles under Article5(1)(a) UK GDPR (lawfulness, fairness and transparency), as registration numbers can reasonably be linked to identifiable individuals and disclosure would be unfair in the absence of a lawful basis.
