Response
1. How assessments are arranged
The Council can confirm the following:
-
Contracts with a provider to deliver driver medical assessments: No.
-
Maintains an approved or recommended list of medical providers: No.
-
Requires applicants to arrange their own assessments without a Council-appointed provider: Yes.
-
Different arrangements for different types of licence: Not applicable.
2. Current contract or provider arrangement
The Council does not have a contract, framework call-off or other formal arrangement with a medical assessment provider.
Accordingly, Questions 2(a)–(h) are not applicable.
3. Previous and future arrangements
Applicants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own medical assessments.
Medical reports must be completed by either the applicant's own registered GP or a registered GP at a private medical practice, provided that the GP has access to the applicant's full medical records.
As the Council does not have a current provider arrangement, there is no associated procurement or contract renewal timetable.
