Please find below a response to your request for information received on 18 July.
1. Does your council have a written anti-poverty strategy (this may also be referred to as a 'poverty strategy')? This may be an all-age strategy, or one focusing on a specific group of the population, such as a child poverty strategy. If so, please provide a link to the strategy if it is available publicly, or a copy via email.
We do not have a specific 'anti-poverty strategy' but our Council Strategy 2024-28 provides a clear strategic overview for the council's approach to tackling inequalities, including poverty, through our work in the areas of Communities, Housing and Economic Development. Our Thriving Communities Strategy 2023-27 gives further detail on how we will deliver this approach.
2. If your council does not have an anti-poverty strategy in place, does it plan to develop one within the next 12 months? If so, please provide a link to any public facing document detailing this commitment.
Our Council Strategy 2024-28 provides a clear strategic overview for the council's approach to tackling inequalities, including poverty, up to 2028. Alongside this our Thriving Communities Strategy 2023-27 gives further detail on how we will deliver this approach. We do not plan to develop another strategy on these issues in the next 12 months.
3. Has your council voluntarily adopted the socio-economic duty?
Yes, we voluntarily adopted the socio-economic duty on 13 March 2024.
