Has the Council’s grass-cutting frequency for parks, verges, etc. changed in 2025 or 2026? Is grass being cut less frequently in mid-summer and more frequently in spring and autumn?

Response

The Council has not changed its overall policy regarding the number of grass cuts in 2025 or 2026.

The timing and frequency of grass cutting can vary from year to year depending on climatic conditions. During periods of summer drought, grass cutting may be reduced. However, this is weather-dependent rather than a policy to cut less frequently in mid-summer and more frequently in spring and autumn.

The Council also considers the need to manage longer grass and other vegetation where it could create a fire risk.
