FoI Request - Contingency Plans for High Rise Buildings May I please have the following information within the statutory time for a response for any buildings managed by the City Council or their agents:? • Number of building requiring cladding refurbishment after the Grenfell fire • Number of buildings which have a contingency plan • Number of buildings which have a fire warden/ marshal scheme • A copy of a representative contingency plan for a relevant building • A copy of any fire warden/marshal operational manual/instructions
Response
1. Number of buildings requiring cladding refurbishment after the Grenfell fire.
None of the 5 tower blocks owned by Oxford City Council require cladding refurbishment work due to all cladding achieving a Class 0 or low risk classification, and Class A1 insulation (properties / behaviour in relation to fire) which has been installed within the last 5 years when the tower blocks went through a refurbishment project.
2. Number of buildings which have a contingency plan
Due to all our high-rise buildings having the above materials fitted to them, Oxford City Council does not have any formal contingency plans for the 5 tower blocks. All resident units have had sprinkler systems installed within them to reduce / prevent the spread of fire within the building, all communal doors have been replaced within the last 5 years with FD30's and FD60 doors, and we are currently running a resident front door replacement program which all doors will be replaced with FD30's.
3. Number of buildings which have a fire warden/ marshal scheme
None.
4. A copy of a representative contingency plan for a relevant building
N/A.
